TOUCH depends solely on Leisuretowne volunteers to run a successful program. With additional volunteers, more programs can be offered, and transportation extended. This is a rewarding way to keep Leisuretowne a caring community and a special place to live.

Visit the TOUCH House at: 202 North Plymouth Court

Southampton, New Jersey 08088

Phone 859-2980

Our office is open Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

In case of emergency, would you need special attention?

Don't forget that TOUCH maintains a confidential listing of those residents who might require special assistance in the event of a prolonged power shortage, a flooding condition, fire, etc. If you should need such help, or if you know of someone who does, please call TOUCH as soon as possible!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU ARE SCHEDULED TO HAVE A KNEE OR HIP REPLACEMENT and know that you will need a walker after the operation, may we strongly suggest that you come to TOUCH and get your walker before you got o the hospital. That way it will be ready for you on your return home!

CALLING ALL DRIVERS! We are desperate for additional volunteer drivers. The need is so urgent that changes may soon have to be made in one of the most important services that TOUCH provides-transporting some of our residents who can no longer get to their medical appointments on their own. We ask anyone who may be interested in this compassionate neighbor-to-neighbor service to call TOUCH at 859-2980.Volunteers are asked to help once every three weeks or so, and only at their convenience. Rides are limited to a reasonable distance and most appointments are in the morning.

CHOLESTEROL SCREENINGS

As a reminder of this new service, in conjunction with our blood pressure clinic, the visiting nurse service will be present on the last Thursday of every month at the normal blood pressure hours of 1:00-2:00 PM to provide cholesterol screenings. If you have any questions regarding this new service, please contact TOUCH nurse , Nancy Fiedler at 859-2980.

F.Y.I.----As indicated above the need for additional drivers is due to the fact that in 2008, we had only 51 volunteer drivers....In the same year there were 2,667 visitors to the TOUCH office on Plymouth Court....there were 804 service trade referrals for residents looking for qualified contractors and service people....202 residents participated in our various support groups....also in 2008 there were 664 residents who utilized the Thursday afternoon blood pressure screenings.
